U.S. Congressman Moran Congratulates Shen Zhou International Film Festival

The 2014 Shen Zhou International Film Festival was held at the Angelika Film Center  on July 22,  2014.  On the same day, Shen Zhou Film Studio celebrated it’s 8th anniversary. Shen Zhou Film Studio also received a congratulatory letter from Congressman Moran for the special occasion.

Shen Zhou Thanks Audience for Support with Free Screening of New Documentary Film

The 2014 Shen Zhou International Film Festival was succesfully held on July 22nd in Virginia (USA).  To fulfill the audience’s hope that more people will be able to see these movies, Shen Zhou screened them at the film festival. To thank the audience for support, Shen Zhou Film Studio decided to debut its newest film, “The Stories of Two Artists,” on Shen Zhou Web Theater.

Four films, including movies and documentaries, about cultivation stories of Falun Gong practitioners were shown. The first movie “Shake the World” revealed the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners who cling to their beliefs and stand up for their convictions in mainland China. The second movie “Forever” tells the true story of a young practitioner’s mental and physical changes after practicing Falun Gong. However, he was killed one day before his wedding, leaving behind his grieving fiancée and parents.

Kindness and Courage Displayed in ‘Shake the World’

The premiere of Shake the World was held October 13, 2006 at American University in Washington, D.C. This was the Shen Zhou Film Studio’s first release of a feature length film. The premiere also kicked off a university campus screening tour.

Shake the World tells the true story of the beginning of the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners after July 1999, through the eyes of hair stylist Ding Yan. As a female practitioner, Yan demonstrates the kindness and unbelievable courage that Falun Gong practitioners exhibited while enduring the brutal persecution of the Chinese Communist regime.
