Shen Zhou film studio had just released the poster of the new movie “Forever”. Among the four main characters, Mao Fan—an anxious gentleman who is always in a quandary, is played by Jiang Hua is the second male lead role. Our reporter interviewed him recently.

Actor: Jiang Hua, from “Forever”

Jiang is from Japan. His calm personality has a similar charisma as the general manager in the movie. There is smile on his face from time to time making people feel warm and comfortable.

Reporter: What made you decide to act in “Forever”?

Jiang: A friend recommended me. I came to the audition, the director asked me to act a few plots of being angry. Although I like watching movie and TV, but I’d never played in a movie. When I heard that the director selected me to play the second male role, I was kind of nervous. I had no idea where to start and how to play. But I have no doubts that I liked the character Mao Fan very much, and I decided to give my best shot.

Reporter: Did you feel comfortable playing the character Mao Fan in the movie?

Jiang: Actually, Mao Fan and I are very much alike. If my family is as wealthy as his, I will truly be Mao Fan. We both are kind, but easy to follow the downside crowd due to the impact of the real world. We are always in an insoluble dilemma of the real world—choosing between good or bad. However, when justice is been interrogated, I will question myself sternly. So Mao Fan is a relative complex role to me. In order for me to get into the character fast and precise, I had not gone home for three days since it started shooting the role of Mao Fan.

Reporter: Which was the toughest scene to do?

Jiang: It would be the plot when Hei Zi, my employee in the movie, came to the office and told me that there was a problem with our goods. As that was an unexpected event, I was supposed to act angrily and nervously. It is a good test to my acting skill. In everyday life, I am usually calm and I do not get excited or angry easily. The director took the trouble to enlighten me, and taught me the mentality of the character along with the used of body and facial expression. Also a few crews tried to inspire me with a sad song. At that moment, I understood why the director asked me to act being angry during the audition.

At the end of the interview, Jiang said, in China, there are a lot of people like Mao Fan. However, only Mao Fan witnessed the male character Yong Cheng’s changes. Jiang would like to sincerely recommend the invaluable book “Zhuan Falun”, which changed the life of Yong Cheng.
