On July18th,2009, near Zhudi Station of Tokyo, a striking big green poster with Japaenese letters caught people’s attention. On it was written,”The Third Shen Zhou International Film Festival”. The theater packed a full house. At 10am in the morning,two emcees solemnly announced that the festival was officially started.
Korean organizer Li Dongxun who is also a representative of the Second Shen Zhou International Film Festival made a special trip just to express his congratulations. He said that in the second film festival which was held last year in South Korea,the audience came away with a new understanding of human rights and that he also received support from all levels of society. Because of that film festival, people had a realization which was, the brutal persecution of Falun Gong still exists in Mainland China. The protection of human rights is a worldwide value and hopes we can all work together to achieve this goal.

Tuwu Jingzhi, who is the fourth elected to be Congressman of Tokyo on July 16th attended the opening and expressed his wishes and concern on the human rights in China. He stayed to watch the film “Forever”. During the interview, he recalled that in history the British Government implemented,”Pacificate Strategy” on the Nazis. He stressed the importance of paying close attention to the human rights issue of China. He said:”If we turn a blind eye for murder, torture, and the illegal action of policies, it’s just the same that we agree with Hitler.”

Xia Yifan, Secretary of Chinese Democracy Coalition Headquarter and Publicize Minister of Chinese Democracy Coalition Japanese Branch said, “This is a cultural event that was surrounded by Chinese Communist Party’s campaigns. However, I took it as a political event because we are facing the fact of the atrocities in China. Therefore, the opening of the film festival is a remarkable achievement”.
Jibei Xiannan, researcher of an automatic instrument performance and Ju Dihong, President of Real Estate Company went to the theater to express their congratulations on the opening of the festival. After watching the opening film “Forever”, Jibei spoke highly of the film, “The film is clear, beautiful and not complicated, it has an invisible power to catch you” while Ju Dihong said, “This movie really makes me think and I would also like to try practicing Falun Gong.”

The opening was postponed for 10 minutes because the greetings from all strata of Japanese Society. Later, Shen Zhou latest film “Forever” was first shown in the world.
